Damn - now this hadn't gone all how he had planned, this was meant to have been and easy little assasination job - at least, that's what that crazy looking dude had told Akira during the dark hours of that morning. Sure he had needed to be extra careful considering the target in which he had been given . . . . . . but wasn't he always? Sure the whole werewolf thing helped with this problem, since most humans paid little attention to any stray dogs that wandered the streets regardless of size - so why the sudden change in behavior now?
But wait, let's start from the beginning - what had happened so far that had gotten him into all this trouble? Well there was that shady guy this morning, this was the first job Akira had been given in a while and the target? The King of Serelia himself . . . . . sure a risky thing to do - but hey, it was worth a try even if he only got in so far before being caught. Which is why even before getting within sight of the large palace the teenage werewolf had ensured to change from his human form into the black and white wolf than now trotted through the streets and passing by the guards unnoticed. At least - for a short time and he would have made it right up and into the palace - at least if the alarm had been sounded. But by what or who? he hadn't done anything that had made his intentions known to the guards, maids and whoever else lived and worked within the palace grounds. So why had the heavily armed guards moved upon him so quickly?
Wait - that guard there? That was the one from that same morning! Akira had been set up - that was why he'd been spotted so easily, this guy had been expecting him to come and had known what he looked like. Well, he would have to deal with that later - provided he even lived passed the next few minutes. On account that Akira was now surrounded by a dozen guards or more each with a blade of some kind drawn and currently jabbing at the overgrown wolf some of which actually causing some serious injury and allowing a significant amount of blood to fall. Of course - this causing Akira's strength to slowly dwindle and force him back into his human form after having being forced into a corner both his cloths and hair stained and matted with blood.
Just great . . . . . . . . . . this was the end for him that was for certain, there was no way out of this for Akira now - what was the point of even attempting to resist now? There was too many guards surrounding him with no chance of escaping, not alive anyway - he may as just accept what was to happen . . . . . . . .

A yawn escaped from the girl's lips, and she quickly places a hand over her mouth in respect for those around here. Well, by that I mean a small dragon and the maid who was always in her room. Cleaning. Still... Emerald eyes darted from the book she was currently reading--well, half-reading because her eyes kept trying to close with each word--to said maid. The woman was in her early twenties, having been working at the castle since she was fifteen. Well, that was what she had been told, anyway. The maid was her favorite as she had been assigned to tend to Esmeralda's every need since her first day of work. She had never heard a complaint from the woman, even when she had to clean her room at least five times a day. She even took to dusting off anyone from outside before they entered the princess's room. She really needed a life.
The blond sighed, leaning back against the headboard of her bed. The maid glanced over at her, a small smile adorning her lips. "My lady, do you need anything?" Princess Esmeralda blinked a few times, fighting off the sleep that was plaguing her. She shook her head, long blond hair shifting slightly. "Unless you can keep me awake, no, ma'am." Normally maids weren't spoken to with any form of respect, but having said maid 'trapped' in your room for the past five or so years made her treat the woman with respect. She just barely missed the soft chuckle from the woman as her eyelids drooped down and closed, sleep engulfing her almost instantly.
What seemed like hours passed, even when it was only a few minutes. She was awoken by an alarm. Emerald eyes shot open, locking on the maid who was staring at her with equally wide eyes. They knew that alarm. It had happened a few times in the past. "Oh no... Father!" The girl shot up out of bed, ignoring her stiff muscles, and swung the door open. Her maid didn't even try to stop her, only accompanying her. They darted down the hallway, turning when necessary, going down stairs, etc. Who was leading the way? Not the princess. Not the maid. No, the dragon was leading the way. Blanche had picked up the scent of a 'mutt', so she knew where to go.
"Bl-Blanche! F-father's r-room is--" Her face was painted with confusion as they didn't go in the direction of the King's room. So, that meant... Father is safe! They continued on, however, wanting to know who was trying to assassinate her father. They skidded to a halt when the sight of almost all of their guards came into view. Esmeralda almost collapsed as soon as they stopped, her breathing more labored than that of her maid's, but the woman quickly held her steady. They should really get an elevator. All those stairs will trigger her asthma...
The princess only allowed herself to gain a bit of her breath back before straightening her posture, making it seem as though she hadn't been on the verge of fainting. The only things that gave it away were the small beads of sweat on her forehead, her maid still holding her shoulders so she wouldn't collapse, and the slight shake in her voice. "Guards!" The authority in her voice after much practise (one of the few things she could do while stuck in her room) never wavered, even with the slight shake in the beginning. "Get back to your posts!" All the men stopped what they were doing and gave her the 'deer in the headlights' look. What? Was it really that rare to see her out of her room? "Now." Most of them left, a few staying behind. Probably to make sure whoever the assassin was didn't try to attack her. Killing a king's child would be worse than killing the king himself. Why? Because you would have a furious monarch on your tail.
Letting out a sigh, the girl took a few steps toward the bloodied assassin, staggering slightly. Thankfully, her maid was still keeping her steady. She kneeled down by the boy--he couldn't be even a few years older than herself--not caring if any blood found its way on to her dress. It could be washed. Esmeralda just stared at him for a moment, taking in the full extent of the damage, before speaking. "Are you all right, sir?" She then added another question after a few seconds, predicting what his answer might be. "Other than the fact that you were about to be mauled to death?"

Alright - now this had been something that the werewolf hadn't been expecting - one of the royal family actually sending the guards away before they'd had a chance to finish what they had started previously. And considering that he probably should be dead or at least in some kind of prison cell} right about now - but the guards had been stopped. Wait? And was that the young princess that had told them to stop? Now why would she have done that? Surely after his little assassination attempt Akira had been expecting her to encourage the guards to finish the job they had already started. . . . . . . . Well - maybe not.
So now he was actually able to relax a little and slow his breathing ever so slightly as all except a few of the guards left. Did they really expect him to even try kill the princess? After the treatment he had received from attempting to kill her father? Now really - was he that stupid? Truthfully he did value his life a little more than to risk doing something stupid like that.
Anyway - if this had been a surprise the small fact that said princess had actually moved nearer, knelt down and begun questioning him had been more surprising. And she actually sounded somewhat politer than he had originally expected. This little detail taken into consideration - and despite the pain he was in - Akira actually made some form of attempt to show some form of respect by lowering both his gaze and head in an half bow, which since he was sitting upon the floor while doing this just looked plain silly.
"Apart from that Princess? And apart from the mess i'm already in - i am fine. Until you decide what happens of course." came the inaudible answer - more of a whisper than anything. But hey - could he help it if it wasn't exactly everyday that he had a chance to speak to some form of royalty every day? But then again - there was a first for everything, at least he managed to remember his manners - well, most of his manner's - on account that due to his current situation did cause some discomfort for the older teen and - naturally - a certain amount of nerves, this much made obvious by the fact he had begun to chew at an injury upon his hand. Sure - not the best thing to be doing under the current circumstances, but hey he couldn't exactly help himself. One of the unfortunate side effects of being a Werewolf - since Akira had pretty much always had an unhealthy {almost borderline morbid} fascination with blood no matter if it was his own, that and it gave him a chance to study the little blond princes. But why not? She was staring at him and appeared to be studying him so only seemed fair he did the same.

Nothing else came from her until he started chewing on his wounded hand. She turned her head to look up at the maid. "Could you go get the medic, please?" The maid seemed reluctant to leave, but she did so anyway. When the maid scurried down the hall, the princess turned back her attention to the Werewolf.
"Would you mind telling me your name?" Her head tilted to the side a little, emerald eyes continuing to watch the silver haired boy. She reached a pale hand out, grasping the boy's wrist and trying to pull it away. "You shouldn't chew. Anymore bloodloss will result in your untimely death." Esmeralda made a soft clicking noise with her tongue, and the small white dragon who had been guiding her perched herself on the princess's shoulder. Blanche then carefully walked down the girl's arm, stopping when she ran out of space to walk. The ice dragon then blew out some freezing cold haze on the boy's hand. The ice that would form would both stop the blood from coming out and keep it from getting infected. Well, for the time being.
Her maid really needed to hurry up with the medic. Then she would have to call for the other maids to clean up the blood and fetch the assassin a space change of clothes. Oh, her mother would be furious at her, both for helping the Werewolf (she never understood why her mother didn't like dogs, mainly stays) and leaving her spotless room. [/scrolly]

Stop chewing his hand? Now why would he want to do that? . . . . oh right, the whole injury and blood-loss thing, that and the whole death thing. Now what was she? His mother? So why had he allowed the blond princess to grip his wrist and pull his hand away? Hmmmm - that was a good question, even he couldn't answer that one - that was a first. Hey! Now that was cold! The Werewolf made a half hearted attempt to tug his arm away, finally allowing his tense muscles to relax upon watching the actions of the miniature ice dragon, freezing the previously chewed hand.
This little action causing a little more interest from the silver haired werewolf, resulting in temporarily forgetting the question given to him - at least up until he noticed the emerald eyes still focused upon him. "my name? . . . . . . . Akira . . . . . . . . . but what does it matter? It's not as if i'll be allowed to live past tonight right? Not after what i've tried to do." came both an answer and a question of his own, Silver tinted eyes focusing upon the younger princess.

When her dragon was done, another click sounded. Blanche then climbed back up her arm and perched herself on the girl's shoulder. Esmeralda then released the boy's wrist and retracted her hand. "Akira?" She said the name to her self a few times, and it sounded kind of foreign to her. "I like the name. It isn't as long and stuffy as the one my mother gave me." With a soft huff, the blond leaned back on her feet, still not caring that her dress was completely ruined now. Hey, she hadn't had an attack yet, so she was fine!
Emerald green eyes narrowed at what was said. "It does matter. Under my request, you cannot be harmed. You didn't succeed it what you came here to do, no? Then you cannot be charged." Even if it were attempted. "Plus, father knows how much I hate death sentences..." Scratch that, fear death. Spark a little fear in the princess, and you will be running for her inhaler in no time. Now, I don't think her parents would want that.
Where was that maid? [/scrolly]

Warily and slowly retracting his own hand in order the study the thin layer of frost and ice that now prevented the werewolf teen from chewing the injury, silver eyes soon shifter back to the girl studying her every little movement and listening to the comments in which she made - a flicker of a smile and a chuckle escaping his battered body before silence followed. "long and stuffy? . . . . . . . . it can't be that bad can it? always thought someone like you would be called something . . . . . unique." he stated, the amusement soon fading upon realization of the damage done by the blood to the dress of this young teen girl.
Of course - his suspicions faded upon the next set of comments made by the blond princess. He wasn't going to be charged with anything just because she requested it? Sure he knew this girl was the princess - but considering his attempts on her father's life surely even despite her dislike to death sentences he should at least be reported? But whatever her reasoning and despite not wishing to admit it Akira was truthfully grateful for her unexpected choice about his fate. But - of course - due to his current condition and despite his desire to voice his gratitude, the older teen was already starting to become woozy. Hey - maybe if he had a chance he could find a way to repay her, he did owe her his life after all. Right . . . . . . thats what he would do. . . . . . . . so with a small sigh the silver haired boy soon allowed himself to fully relax before his weary eyes closed. Within moments of having done this and knowing his safety was guaranteed - for now at least - the male 'human' teen finally went quiet.
